Chris Jones Posts A Cryptic Message Amid Contract Extension Talks With Chiefs
Tomorrow is a secret deadline for the Chiefs and Chris Jones. Jones’s strike has been ongoing for well over a month at this point. And as of Sunday, he had racked up staggering fines totalling $1.8 million. He will endanger even more money if he doesn’t show up by Tuesday.

A player must report five days before to the conclusion of the preseason, which is this Tuesday, according to Article 20 of the CBA. If he doesn’t, a club may utilize a roster exception to refuse to pay him game checks even after they have been issued.
This week, Jones posted a mysterious message on Twitter before responding to certain Chiefs supporters. The defensive tackle then made a suggestion that he would be prepared to wait until Week 8 when they would play their second contest against the Denver Broncos. Now, Chiefs supporters fear that he will continue to hold out for that long.
I'm seeing folks say that they don't care if Chris Jones comes back or not or that the Chiefs will be just fine without him. I really don't think a lot of you understand just how insanely valuable 95 has been for this team over the last 6 seasons and it shows.

A picture of Jones’ agent, Michael Katz, visiting Joe’s KC BBQ in Kansas City may have surfaced on social media on Sunday for Chiefs supporters who happened to go onto their accounts at the time. Fans began to worry if Katz was in the area to discuss a deal with Jones as a result.
Defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo is still trying to figure out where the pass-rush pressure and sacks will come from as the Chiefs get closer to their Sept. 7 season-opening against the Detroit Lions at Arrowhead Stadium, especially if Jones doesn’t finish his strike before then.

“You’re always looking for continuity and continuity comes with reps and being around each other and together,” Spagnuolo said. “We haven’t had that. [There are] a lot of moving pieces right now.
“Sometimes it takes the first quarter of the season to figure out who you are and what you have. Along the way, you hope you’re winning games but it might take us a little while to figure all of that out.”
