Roquan Smith plays linebacker for the Chicago Bears in football. At Georgia, he played collegiate football. The Bears picked up Smith’s fifth-year option last year, securing a $9.7 million salary for the 2022 campaign.

In a 16-14 defeat against the Baltimore Ravens last year, Smith produced a career-high total of 17 tackles, including two tackles for losses. Since Brian Urlacher made 19 stops in 2006, this was the most tackles made by a Bears player in a single game.

Early in August 2022, Smith declared that after trying to work out a contract extension throughout the summer, he has asked the Bears to move him. Smith cited the “new front office regime doesn’t value me here” as the cause for his request.

Roquan Smith was taken off the Physically Unable to Perform list by the Chicago Bears two weeks ago. Smith will participate in the Browns’ last preseason game, according to Alyssa Barbieri of USA Today. Smith initially asked for a trade but then changed his mind. He returned to the group last week and is now expected to play in Week 1.
