Charles Barkley Speaks On The Ongoing Chaos In Nets- Defends Steve Nash, Blames Irving, Durant & Simmons!
In the most recent episode of TNT’s “Inside the NBA,” Charles Barkley became enraged and claimed that the league “dropped the ball” in how it handled the player’s contentious Twitter post and that Steve Nash is not entirely at fault for the team’s poor play.
Charles Barkley Speaks On The Ongoing Chaos In Nets, Also Says Kyrie Irving Should’ve Been Suspended
After Steve Nash was fired by the Brooklyn Nets, Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and Ben Simmons will now play for a different head coach. Brooklyn is having a difficult start to the season, and Irving’s promotion of an anti-Semitic book has caused yet another huge scandal.
I’m betting Steve Nash is in a celebratory mood today!

Hall of Famer Charles Barkley was blunt about the dismissal of Nash:
“It’s just a bad look. From a public perception, you let these players run this man off his job because they were acting like fools. This is all on Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving and Ben Simmons.”
“Steve Nash is just a scapegoat. I don’t know if Steve Nash is Red Auerbach or whatever. This thing was never going to work when he [Irving] said, ‘We don’t need a coach.’”

He added: “Nobody was talking about how bad of a coach Steve Nash was two, three years ago. All of a sudden, these guys started acting like fools and jackasses, and now, ‘Steve Nash can’t coach.’”
Ben Simmons, a professional basketball player from Australia, and teammates Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving of the Brooklyn Nets have come under fire from Charles Barkley for allegedly being the cause of the team’s decision to fire head coach Steve Nash.
“It hurts me sometimes when we have to sit up here and talk about stuff that divides the game.”

The Nets’ drama, according to Barkley, started with Irving and Durant. Irving missed the beginning of the previous season because he declined to get the COVID-19 shot, which was required at the time by the City of New York. More recently, he has drawn attention for posting a link to an anti-Semitic movie.
In the meantime, Durant threatened to be traded if the Nets didn’t dismiss GM Sean Marks and Nash during the offseason. After a meeting with Nash, Marks, and team owner Joe Tsai, he ultimately withdrew his offer.
“I think he should have been suspended.”

“I think he [Kyrie Irving] should have been suspended. I think Adam [Silver] should have suspended him,” Charles Barkley told the panel.
“First of all, Adam’s Jewish. You can’t take my $40 million dollars and insult my religion,” Barkley continued. “If you’re going to insult me, you have the right, but I have the right to say, ‘No, you’re not going to take my $40 million and insult my religion.’
“I think the NBA made a mistake.”
"I think he should have been suspended. Adam Silver should have suspended him. They made a mistake. I can't believe we're talking about this idiot."
