Charles Barkley Pokes Fun At Skip Bayless Calls Him An ‘idiot’ Over Shannon Sharpe Drama
Charles Barkley, who enjoys making fun of other media figures, appeared to fire a warning shot at Shannon Sharpe’s rumored buyout from FS1’s Undisputed, which he co-hosts with Skip Bayless.
Barkley, who has already stated that he doesn’t like Bayless, couldn’t help but take indirect pleasure in the rumored information that Sharpe would be abandoning Bayless after the NBA Finals.

Following the NBA Finals, Bayless’ FS1 sparring partner Shannon Sharpe will become a free agent, according to a report on Wednesday from Fox Sports and Shannon Sharpe.

Barkley appeared to be drawn in by the idea of a buyout, maybe since his summer vacation was postponed because he had to travel to Denver to cover the NBA Finals on NBA TV. Barkley poked fun at Bleacher Report and Bayless at the same time as he tried to make a case for a buyout from his rumored $200 million deal.
“I read an article today — if you work with a damn idiot, they’ll buy you out,” said Barkley, referencing Bleacher Report’s story of Sharpe’s exit.

On TNT’s “Inside the NBA,” Barkley joked that Kenny Smith rather than Shaquille O’Neal or Ernie Johnson is the “idiot” he works with.
“I just want y’all to know, I’m open to the buyout,” Barkley exclaimed.

Although Barkley did not specifically identify Bayless or Sharpe, it is very clear who the jab was directed at.
Prior to the announcement of Bayless and Sharpe’s impending divorce, Barkley made light of the couple’s failing marriage in January.

“Shaq, it’s not you,” Barkley insisted, also adding that it’s also not his NBA TV co-hosts Matt Winer or Grant Hill. “It’s not Ernie [Johnson]. It’s Kenny [Smith]! But apparently, if you work with a damn idiot they’ll buy you out. So, I just want you to know, I’m open to the buyout. I didn’t know it was that easy.”

But neither was it Kenny Smith. Barkley tried to slink behind Smith, but it was obvious that he was talking to Skip Bayless when he screamed, “damn idiot.”
