Carson Wentz Injury: The QB Will Be Out For 5 To 12 Weeks
Carson Wentz Injury: Not a good start for Indianapolis Colts.
Right after starting a new season with a new team Carson Wentz injury is not at all good news. This past offseason the Indianapolis Colts acquired Carson from Philadelphia Eagles in not so common trade. Well, it’s not common because of its strange terms and conditions. The contract says that if the quarterback plays 75 percent of the snaps then the Colts will send their 2022 first-round draft pick to the Eagles whereas if Carson will be any less than 75 then the Eagles will get a second-round NFL draft pick instead.
Colts' QB Carson Wentz is out indefinitely as he undergoes further testing on a foot injury that he suffered at the end of Thursday's practice, per @MikeWellsNFL and me.

The 28 years old quarterback of the Colts suffered a foot injury while in the training camp. The injury was rough enough that he was subsequently ruled out. It has been decided later on that Carson Wentz injury will be cured and he will undergo surgery for the same. Carson will take somewhere between 5 to 12 weeks to recover and get back on the field. Whereas some sources as saying that the quarterback will return sooner than expected. However, what will the Indianapolis Colts do in his absence? How will the Colts fill this newly generated void? How can the team replace a missing piece with another piece?
The Colts now have three key offensive starters that are dealing with notable injuries that could linger into the season:
QB Carson Wentz: Foot (5-12 week recovery)
All-Pro G Quenton Nelson: Foot (5-12 week recovery)
LT Eric Fisher: Achilles tear suffered in AFC Championship— Field Yates (@FieldYates) August 3, 2021
Carson Wentz injury history
- 2017 – Torn ACL injury against the Los Angeles Rams.
- 2018 – Back injury after starting 11 games for the Eagles.
- 2019 – Concussion in the wild card game.
- 2020 – Suffered for NFL-worst 50 sacks.
It looks like Carson Wentz has a rich history of injury. Looking at the list here the quarterback has a record of getting injured every year for the past five years.

Indianapolis Colts lacks in terms of quarterback.
I don’t think that the Indianapolis Colts have anyone to replace Carson Wentz. If you look at it in terms of experience then there is not much talent in terms of quarterback. It’s hard for the Colts to find a potential replacement for Carson Wentz even for a single game. Which players can be thought of as an option:

What ESPN is saying about this injury?
Marcus Spears called Carson Wentz’s injury”catastrophic’ for the Colts. He further added, “Obviously, this injury derails a lot of things about the Indianapolis Colts and what they had plans to do.” “It was too much riding on Carson Wentz being the Indianapolis Colts’ starter in order for these things to materialize and take place. It’s unfortunate.”
It looks like the quarterback has a deep connection with the injuries and that is why the injury followed him for years and from the Eagles to the Colts.

Carson Wentz injury: Repercussions for the Philadelphia Eagles.
I have already mentioned the terms of this Carson Wentz trade between the Eagles and the Colts. However, if by any chance this man will be out for twelve weeks then it won’t be possible for him to play the first seven games with the Colts. Even if Wentz plays every snap after these seven games he won’t be making 75 percent and ultimately the Eagles won’t be getting a 2022 first-round draft pick from the Indianapolis Colts.

The quarterback situation is shaky for the Colts. On one hand, they are lacking the replacement and on the other, they can hope for an early comeback of the quarterback Carson Wentz. The best thing that happened to the Colts is that Wentz has not been officially ruled out for the season. It means that they can have him back as soon as he will recover enough to play on the field.
