Cardinals, Will Hernandez To be Ejected For Pushing Official

On Sunday, a fight between the Cardinals and the Panthers resulted in the dismissal of Arizona lineman Will Hernandez after he made contact with a referee. Hernandez reportedly got the boot in the fourth quarter for pushing a referee in the back following an altercation between the two teams, according to the Associated Press.

In the third quarter of Arizona’s 26-16 victory, the incident began near the conclusion of a run by Cardinals running back James Conner. After officials blew the play dead, Panthers linebacker Frankie Luvu pulled up Conner and slammed him to the ground. Following the post-play contact, Hernandez and fellow Cardinals lineman Kelvin Beachum sprinted to confront Luvu.

Hernandez was dismissed for making contact with the referee while attempting to get involved in a fight with the Panthers. Hernandez’s violation caused the Cardinals to lose yardage in the exchange even though Luvu was punished.

He “won’t be banned for making contact with an official Sunday, I’m informed,” according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. Hernandez left the game. It will be examined for potential fines as well.

At Charlotte, North Carolina’s Bank of America Stadium, the Cardinals fought back to defeat the Panthers 26-16 despite His dismissal.

Arizona and Hernandez agreed to a one-year contract in March. At the time, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network claimed that the agreement allowed the 2018 second-round pick to reconnect with Sean Kugler of the Cardinals’ offensive line. The latter served as Hernandez’s position coach at UTEP.

He started the Giants’ 17 games at right guard last year. During his first three NFL seasons, he was a left guard.

During his four years with the Giants, the 27-year-old Hernandez started 56 games and believes that better things are in store for him in Arizona: “I’m not here to mess around. I’m here to assist.

Hussey wasn’t Hernandez’s target, and Hernandez hardly made eye contact with him during the tense exchange. The authorities, in this case, saw no reason for a grey area and removed him in accordance with the wording of the law. Officials may not establish eye contact with players.

Hernandez is currently anticipating the NFL’s next course of action.
