An extraordinary bond that has lasted generations connects Brink’s story with Curry’s. At Virginia Tech, forty years ago, Cameron Brink’s mother Michele Bain, and Curry’s mother Sonya Adams bonded for the rest of their lives. Their children have benefited from this close bond as well; Cameron has developed into one of the NCAA’s top prospects and is expected to be selected highly in the 2024 WNBA Draft, while Stephen has gone on to set records as an NBA triple shooter.

Both on and off the court, the Curry and Bain-Brink families are clearly connected. It is not unusual to see Stephen’s girls with Michele Bain-Brink, or even to see Stephen at Stanford Cardinal games supporting Cameron’s team. Thanks in large part to the presence and encouragement of the Curry family, Brink’s Cardinals began the NCAA season as the second-best team, demonstrating the close relationships between the two teams.

But Curry’s influence on Brink’s path extends beyond familial relationships. It was during Stephen Curry’s basketball camp that their paths met more intimately. A young, gifted athlete named Brink had the chance to attend the Golden State Warriors star’s camp back in 2018 together with other gifted players. It was then that Curry noticed Brink’s extraordinary abilities and was amazed by her shooting ability and quickness.

As we move forward in time, Brink’s incredible performances continue to garner attention. During the season opener, Brink showed off her true talent by overcoming major injuries and standing up without her UConn dance partner, Paige Bueckers. Brink’s ability to reach a state of basketball genius is reminiscent of her idol, Stephen Curry. She scored an amazing 26 points against Northwestern and then a stunning 32 points against Texas, a team known for its dominance in basketball.

The fact that Curry just showed up at a news conference wearing a shirt honoring another talented NCAA player, Azzi Fudd, is clear evidence of his appreciation for Brink. Curry’s resolute backing of Brink and his faith in her abilities are demonstrated by this gesture. Fudd strengthened the relationship between the two rising stars in 2021 when he signed the first player image agreement with Curry’s SC30 brand.
