Cameron Brink finds comfort in Sonya and Steph Curry’s backing amidst Caitlin Clark comparisons
The WNBA Draft on Monday night included many of the biggest names in basketball, and Cameron Brink gave the Curry family a lot of positive feedback.
The Los Angeles Sparks selected the former Cardinal, and she had an extremely emotional night. Her godmother, Sonya Curry, was there to enjoy the event with her.

Brink didn’t express her gratitude to those in her immediate vicinity who had assisted her in getting into the WNBA until after the announcement.

The Naismith Defensive Player of the Year acknowledged Stephen Curry and her entire family in an interview with ESPN’s Holly Rowe.

“I think I just need to keep leaning on my people,” she remarked. “My Godmother Sonya Curry is over there ‘Hi God-momma.'” She went on to list the significant others in her life who had supported her during her path to the WNBA.
Cameron Brink said: “I have to shout out to my mother, father, and my brother Cy. It really takes a village. It’s not a one-person job.”

Given that they have both gone through this process, she has always looked up to Seth and Steph Curry, but Caitlin Clark is the one who tends to be likened to Steph Curry the most.
This is a result of her well-known three-point shooting prowess and the widespread belief that her style of play is similar to that of a female Steph Curry.

As the top overall draft pick, Clark was selected by the Indiana Fever after excelling with the Iowa Hawkeyes.
