Caitlin Clark’s BF Connor McCaffery Blasts Sheryl Swoopes’ Comments

Sheryl Swoopes indicated that she won’t take over the Women’s NBA league right away, and Connor McCaffery, the boyfriend of Caitlin Clark of the Iowa Hawkeyes, has taken offense at the remarks.

Swoopes cautioned Clark that the WNBA is a completely different proposition since players are battling for jobs there, despite the fact that Clark is playing fantastic basketball in the NCAA and is about to break the record for most points ever in a matter of games.

On the plus side, she added that both Angel Reese and Clark (LSU Tigers) will make good pros; it will simply take time for them to start transferring their college skills to the professional ranks.

Despite this, McCaffery didn’t like the feedback and responded to an Instagram post including statements from Swoopes with four caps emojis. The cap emoji typically indicates that someone is misinformed or lacks context.

What was it that Swoopes said?

Being a four-time WNBA champion, Swoopes has plenty of experience and an understanding of what it takes to be successful, so she certainly knows what she is talking about.

She became the first player to ever be signed, and she advanced to the highest level of the women’s game. In addition, she has won three gold medals in the Olympics and three MVP awards.

“I think Angel will eventually be a good pro,” To the Gil’s Arena Podcast, Swoopes stated. “I don’t think Angel will come into the league immediately and dominate the way people think she will. And I say that for people who have never watched a WNBA game.

“It’s good. There’s talent-like these women can play. And because there are very few roster spots. It’s a real job. So people look at new players, whether that’s out of college, players who have been overseas, and they look at that and say, ‘Oh, you’re trying to come take my job.’ Nah, it’s not going to be that easy.

“So, will Caitlin Clark be a good pro? Absolutely. Will Caitlin Clark come into the WNBA and do what she’s doing right now immediately? Absolutely not.”
