Caitlin Clark Remembered The Best 10 Seconds Of Her Life: “Ten seconds can go a long way in somebody’s life”
Caitlin Clark has warm memories of an incident that, in her opinion, transformed her life in the space of ten seconds. It’s difficult to ignore the significance of that brief moment ten years ago, even though her path to this point has been nothing short of remarkable.
Clark was taken to a Minnesota Lynx game in Minneapolis by her father Brent ten years ago when she was just twelve years old, from their Des Moines, Iowa, home. At the time, Maya Moore, a WNBA sensation, was the star of the court. She led the Lynx to four victories in seven seasons and was named Finals MVP in 2013.

Because Moore was Clark’s favorite player, Caitlin rushed forward to give him a hug after the game amid the mingling spectators.
The instant Moore and Clark first met
A decade later, Clark is poised for a remarkable professional basketball career. The aftermath of that 10-second encounter is still being felt as she gets ready to play her first preseason game with the Indiana Fever.

That encounter with Moore had a lasting impact on her, pushing her to strive for greatness and influencing her journey even though she might not have become a spectacular basketball star.
“Ten seconds can go a long way in somebody’s life,” Clark claimed.

“That’s a good lesson whether you play sports or don’t play sports, how you treat somebody matters.
“I just try to take as much time as I can for those young girls because Maya was so nice to me when I ran up to her, and that’s something that’s stuck with me all the way until I’m 22 years old.”
