Caitlin Clark, the star of the Iowa Hawkeyes, recorded her 14th career triple-double and moved one spot closer to Brittney Griner on the NCAA all-time scoring chart (women’s college basketball) with her 29 points, 10 assists, and 10 rebounds on Friday in the Hawkeyes’ 103-69 victory over the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.

Clark’s records are not relevant to the size of women’s collegiate basketball. With more than 25 points, she also achieved her seventh triple-double in her career. There has never been a player in Division 1 history—male or female—who had more than three.
With 6:20 remaining in the fourth quarter, Clark left the game to a standing ovation from the spectators.

Prior to kickoff, the arena observed a moment of silence in memory of the victims of the Perry, Iowa, school shooting, which happened close to Clark’s birthplace.
“I grew up 40 minutes away and you know it gave me chills in that moment of silence,” Clark said. “Thinking and praying for all those people affected and as you saw we were wearing blue ribbons and supporting them tonight.”
