Domingo German and Luis Severino, pitchers for the Yankees, Domingo German & Luis Severino reportedly had burglaries occur at their houses outside of Tampa last year.

According to Hillsborough County officials and the Tampa Bay Times, the two Yankees’ houses were broken into during the regular season of last year on days when they played home games in New York.
According to an affidavit published by the publication, four thieves reportedly took “multiple purses and watches valued at approximately $20,000” from German’s house in Thonotosassa, about 15 miles northeast of Tampa, on August 19 of last year.

The break-ins happened during the 2022 regular season, although the Yankees’ spring training complex is in Tampa. According to the Yankees’ schedule, there were home games in New York on the days of each break-in.
The perpetrators were captured on surveillance footage operating a Penske rental vehicle while donning hoods, masks, and gloves.
Invoking a “open investigation,” the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office declined to comment.

Hillsborough deputies stated in the warrant statement that the burglaries at Severino’s Tarpon Springs house on June 1 and June 3, 2022, “are similar to one another residential burglary.”
Deputies from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office went to Severino’s house after a search warrant revealed that more than $300,000 worth of jewelry, accessories, and other valuables had been taken. At the Tarpon Springs residence, deputies discovered a fingerprint.

The warrant affidavit, which was submitted to seek information from the cellphone of a person designated as a potential suspect, claimed that the burglaries of the houses of the two players were connected through telephone logs.
“Based on the multiple links between the Hillsborough County burglary of Domingo German’s residence and the Pinellas County burglary of Luis Severino’s residence … it is likely the burglaries were committed by the same group of suspects,” the search warrant states.

The Pinellas Sheriff’s Office also would not comment on the case, citing an “open investigation.”
