Bucks Star Jrue Holiday Among NBA Players Victimized By $13 Million Scam

One of the best point guards in the game right now is Jrue Holiday. The veteran guard for the Milwaukee Bucks, who just returned from his second All-Star game of the year, is regarded by many as one of the league’s top two-way guards.

Bucks Star Jrue Holiday Among NBA Players Victimized By $13 Million Scam

Jrue Holiday earns a pretty good living as well. The four-time All-Defensive team member signed a hefty $134 million agreement with the Bucks for the next four seasons a few years ago. It is hardly surprising that Holiday has been singled out as a target by criminals attempting to scam his victims given his high-profile earnings.

Darryl Cohen, Brian Gilder, Charles Briscoe, and Calvin Darden Jr. all carried out this precise action. These four people are presently being prosecuted on wire fraud charges, which have a potential sentence of 20 years in prison, according to a story by Kevin Draper of the New York Times. This comes after they used a number of schemes to cheat at least four NBA players out of more than $13 million. Jrue Holiday happens to be one of the victims.

“In one scheme, three players were allegedly persuaded to purchase more than $5 million worth of life insurance policies at an enormous markup. In another, a fourth player spent $7 million to buy a women’s professional basketball team, but prosecutors said the money never went toward a purchase. In the third scheme, a player spent $1 million to fund a player representation agency that never existed, according to the indictment,” wrote Draper.

The report also names Jrue Holiday’s wife Lauren Holiday as a victim. The gang that has brought legal action against these con artists apparently includes former NBA players Chandler Parsons and Courtney Lee.
