Bryson DeChambeau Believes He’s Gonna Live A Very Long Life: ‘Feel like I can live to over 100 now’

This week, some people may have a different opinion of Bryson DeChambeau, albeit that opinion is only partially the result of the 29-year-old’s new diet and exercise regimen, which has made him look nothing like the bulky version who won the 2020 U.S. Open.

He has ideas for increasing ball speed and muscle mass, but most importantly, he has ideas on getting incredibly old.

Bryson DeChambeau Believes He’s Gonna Live A Very Long Life: ‘Feel like I can live to over 100 now’

A few years back, Bryson DeChambeau created headlines with his statements about trying to reach 140 years old. “I’m always trying to add more value to my life in general,” DeChambeau told GQ. “I mean, my goal is to live to 130 or 140. I really think that’s possible now with today’s technology. I think somebody’s going to do  it in the next 30 or 40 years.”

In a 2020 GQ interview, DeChambeau talked about bulking up his physique during the COVID-19 epidemic, which is where he got the idea for the original phrase that stirred up the golf community.

But this time, he was a little more cautious in his aim.

“I feel a lot cleaner and healthier and feel like I can live to over 100 now finally,” he said. “A year and a half ago I was like, oh, man, that thing that I talked about living to 120, I don’t know if I can get there now with the weight I put on. A little different now.”

The 29-year-old went into great depth while speaking about his recent weight loss during a LIV Golf Tulsa news conference. He explained the reasoning for his unbulking and what’s coming up for his physique. He also brought up his age and the reason he is so sure he will live to be 100 years old.

“I would say that my body definitely has changed, and my swing is probably going to change, as well,” DeChambeau said. “That’s part of the process I’m trying to figure out. I was a lot skinnier and leaner when I was hitting it dead straight every single time in 2018. That wasn’t the reason why I tried to get leaner, I just tried to decrease inflammation in my body, which I feel a heck of a lot better, man. I don’t feel like a — you know what I’m going to say.

When Bryson DeChambeau talks about reaching his triple digits with the PGA Championship just around the corner, you know he’s in the proper frame of mind.
