Browns QB Deshaun Watson Might Have To Testify Again On Sexual Misconduct Case
The quarterback for the Cleveland Browns, Deshaun Watson, is again in the news due to a number of resolved cases involving claims of sexual misconduct during massage treatment therapies.
According to Brent Schrotenboer of USA Today, in one of the cases that remain, a motion has been filed to compel Watson to testify further.
Watson will have more inquiries to respond to.

The plaintiff’s counsel has brought attention to the fact that Watson’s lawyer, Rusty Hardin, ordered the initial deposition to be shortened in order to avoid answering specific questions regarding cases that had been brought against Watson.
In order to secure appropriate discovery and gain important answers, the plaintiff wants to compel Watson’s re-deposition, according to court documents filed by one of the woman’s attorneys, David Bickham.

This development occurred amid a flurry of legal actions that followed Watson’s 11-game NFL suspension for alleged sexual misconduct.
The NFL is not ruling out further punishment for Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson if further evidence emerges from the remaining sexual misconduct cases against him.

While most instances have been settled, some, like this one, have remained unresolved, casting a shadow on Watson’s potential NFL future.
“Plaintiff seeks an order from this Court compelling the re-deposition of Defendant Watson in order to propound allowable discovery and have such answers produced,” Bickham said in the court document.

Should the remaining allegations move to trial, Watson—who has refuted any misconduct and resolved most of the cases out of court—may have to deal with more legal action.

He was suspended and later traded from the Houston Texans to the Cleveland Browns in 2022 as a result of the charges, which had a major effect on his career.
The decision as to whether Watson will testify again now rests with the court.
This ongoing legal drama is about to enter a new phase as the plaintiff’s attorney has asked Watson to be available for a deposition by May 1st at the latest.
