Browns’ David Njoku Shares Pictures Of Burns Suffered In An Accident

The 27-year-old Cleveland Browns tight end shared a gallery of photographs to Instagram on Wednesday, including two showing the extent of his injuries from the fire.

It’s the first time Njoku has shown his face in public in the 12 days since the event. He’s previously covered it, such as when he came into Cleveland Browns Stadium on Oct. 1 wearing a beige, alien-inspired disguise that covered everything but his eyes.

Njoku played despite the pain during the Browns’ 28-3 defeat to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 4.

He had six catches for 46 yards versus Baltimore despite arriving at the stadium wearing a complete mask to conceal the extent of his burns.

The Browns are coming off of a bye week and will host the 49ers this weekend.

He announced the start of a clothing line on Tuesday to raise awareness, resources, and support for burn-related treatment, prevention, education, and research.

The American Burn Association (ABA) will get some of the revenue.

Friends, admirers, and followers expressed their support for the athlete in the comments area. “I had no idea it was so nasty. “Can only thank God he’s still alive,” one person said, while another expressed surprise at the player’s ability to return to the field, saying, “Brah, to play a game after this is nuts.”

Nijoku’s teammates also expressed their support. “Respect !!” Greg Newsome II, a Browns cornerback, wrote. Running back Kareem Hunt poked fun at the accident, adding two flame emoji.

“He’s made a huge impact for us already,” Browns coach Kevin Stefanski said earlier this week. “He’s very close to why we’re having success. He gets a ton of attention from defences in the passing game. He does a great job competing in the run game.

“I can recall a few plays in recent weeks that have only been successful because he’s at the point of attack.” So he’s a full-fledged tight end.”
