Nick Chubb did not attend the Cleveland Browns’ 27-3 victory over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. However, the injured Browns running back was present in spirit with his teammates.

Following the game, numerous Browns players emphasized how they had played for Chubb, who had suffered a season-ending knee injury the previous Monday night in a defeat to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Not only that but after the game, coach Kevin Stefanski travelled to his house to present him with a game ball for the victory.

It was all Cleveland, as the defence held Tennessee to 94 yards total offence on 45 plays. The offence gained 341 yards overall, 298 of which came from quarterback Deshaun Watson.

Stefanski announced that he was giving Chubb a game ball during his post-game victory address in the locker room. Stefanski told reporters on Monday that he drove out to Chubb’s house on Sunday to give him the football.

“I drove out there yesterday and hand-delivered him his ball,” Stefanski said, via Cleveland.com’s Mary Kay Cabot. “He’s doing great. He’s excited for the team. He’s rehabbing every day.”

Nick Chubb sustained a horrific injury in the Browns’ Week 2 defeat to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night Football, prompting an outpouring of support for him. Chubb was diagnosed with a torn MCL and will most likely be able to play again.

The Browns will face their toughest test of the season next week when they host the Baltimore Ravens. Because the Browns, Ravens, and Steelers are all 2-1, next week’s matchup is critical to the AFC North standings.

With Chubb out, Deshaun Watson and the passing game will have to take up the burden.

Since being picked in 2018, Chubb has been an integral component of the Browns’ offence and has established himself as one of the league’s finest running backs. It’s no surprise that Kevin Stefanski presented Chubb with a game ball following the win over the Titans; he means a lot to the club, and replacing the vacuum for the remainder of the season will be difficult.
