Brooklyn Nets Guard Kyrie Irving Has No Plans Of Quitting

Regarding his passion for and dedication to the sport, Kyrie Irving has repeatedly been questioned. The Brooklyn Nets guard has made it clear that he will never quit competing.

Many people find it offensive that Irving has repeatedly missed time off for personal reasons. The All-Star guard has occasionally taken unscheduled time off without a specific reason.

Irving was ineligible to play at home last season owing to New York City’s COVID regulation because he refused to receive the COVID-19 vaccination. The Nets were initially reluctant to have a part-time player, despite the fact that he was qualified to participate in away games.

Teams have been hesitant to hire him because of this. He was allegedly available for trade over the offseason, but no team would go to bat for him beside the Los Angeles Lakers.

Possibly the most talented player in league history is Irving. Even though his ball-handling prowess is remarkable, his ability to finish at the rim, considering his size, is maybe even more impressive.

When asked how much longer he wants to play, Kyrie Irving responded as follows during a sit-down with ESPN’s Nick Friedell:

“I’ll continue to play basketball forever. I can hear you. Please understand that I will never quit playing. This isn’t even a discussion. It is not taken into account.”

The former NBA champion has demonstrated through his alias “Uncle Drew” that he can play even with grey hair. It’s possible that the All-Star guard was implying to the crowd that he would keep playing after he left the NBA.

Kyrie Irving Has Certain Regrets

Kyrie Irving’s decision to forego the COVID shot cost the Nets. Many believe that James Harden’s request for a trade was partially prompted by his unavailability.

Additionally, Irving’s professional life was impacted by it. The Nets withdrew their offer of a contract worth more than $100 million to him because of uncertainty regarding his availability.

Friedell says that Kyrie Irving thinks he could have chosen otherwise. When asked if there was anything he regretted from the prior year, he responded:

“If I claimed I didn’t, I’d be lying to you as a person. I believe that everyone considers instances in which they might have chosen wiser courses of action and wishes they could have handled situations otherwise. I genuinely want to take the long view and avoid putting too much pressure on myself or others around me.”
