LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony, two likely first-ballot Hall of Famers from the NBA, are getting ready for a highly anticipated high school basketball game that will take place 20 years after a highly publicized matchup between St. Vincent-St. Mary High School and Oak Hill Academy in 2002.

James and Anthony, who were rumoured to have been rivals in high school, were both picked as the first and third picks in the legendary 2003 draft class. Despite all the excitement around them, the two former rookies would build a lifelong relationship and even share a Lakers season.

Melo and Bron both experienced sudden success. The other emerged as an excellent scorer while the first astounded everyone with his amazing athleticism. Twenty years later, their children will see one another in a high school game that will be broadcast nationwide on ESPN.

LeBron and Carmelo both attended the game, which was played in Chatsworth, California. Scottie Pippen and Kim Kardashian were among the other famous people that attended the game, which was broadcast live on ESPN2.

Although Bronny and Kiyan didn’t score the most points for their sides, the former had the upper hand.

Senior high school student Bronny ended with 12 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals. Additionally, he had some standout performances, such as a fastbreak alley-oop dunk and a challenging layup finish in a transaction.

Meanwhile, Kiyan, a high school junior, finished with eight points, two rebounds, two assists and one steal.

LeBron Vs Carmelo

Nearly 21 years had passed since LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony’s initial high school encounter when Bronny and Kiyan faced off.

On February 10, 2002, LeBron led St. Vincent-St. Mary High School to a 72-66 victory over Carmelo and Oak Hill Academy. In Trenton, New Jersey, their game was watched by a sold-out crowd of 11,000 spectators.

On 12-for-27 (44.4%) shooting, “King James” finished with 36 points, eight rebounds, and five assists. Melo, on the other hand, had a double-double with 34 points and 11 rebounds on 14 of 25 shots (56.0%).

Clearly, Bronny and Kiyan did not enjoy the same wild evenings that their fathers did in 2002. Given their shared past, the game still held a lot of significance for both families.
