Broncos’ Punter Riley Dixon Gets Involved In Substance Use Rumors Post MNF
Fans of the Buffalo Bills are searching for any possible explanation for the devastating defeat they suffered last night, and they might not have to go far. Before the game-winning field goal, punter and placeholder Riley Dixon seems to have something alien on his hand in a video that went viral from last night’s ESPN broadcast.

With 5:06 remaining in the fourth quarter, the Broncos led 21-15 thanks to a touchdown, but Dixon fumbled the snap, allowing Denver to hold onto their lead by just six points.

With 1:55 remaining in the game, the Bills were up 22-21 after a touchdown and an extra point, suggesting that the Broncos may pay a heavy price for their error.
But thanks to a costly Taron Johnson pass interference call, Russell Wilson and the Broncos are no longer the laughingstocks of the football world. Wilson helped the team get within field goal range.

Dixon, a former Giant, handled the next two snaps with ease. Wil Lutz easily split the uprights from five yards closer after missing wide right on his first attempt at the game-winning kick that was saved by the Bills’ 12-man-on-the-field penalty.
Was Dixon use a chemical similar to pine tar or Stickum to improve his grip during a pivotal play in the final seconds of the game? The only thing Bills supporters are aware of is that the Broncos made the kick when it counted.

“No item of any type may be placed on the field, or used in any manner, to assist a player in the execution of a field goal and/or [extra-point] Try attempt,” states NFL Rule 11-4-5. This also addresses chemicals that are alien.
The Philadelphia Eagles were suspected of perhaps utilizing a tee or prop during kickoff attempts during the playoffs the previous year. The league reminded all teams of the regulations since they were so worried about it.

Something was visible on Dixon’s hand in a close-up playback of his grip, however, it is tough to identify exactly what it was.
