Brian Dawkins believes Philadelphia Eagles still have room for improvement amid stellar season

The Philadelphia Eagles currently boast the best NFL record of anyone this season with 11 wins and one defeat. While it can be difficult to improve such a well-functioning team, Eagles legend Brian Dawkins still feels that Nick Sirianni’s team can get better.

Dawkins, who played 16 years in the NFL as a safety for the Eagles, highlighted that the current crop of players can sweeten their defensive side of the game. But he didn’t complain about how they have been playing this season. The nine-time Pro Bowler also explained that he was expecting the Eagles to perform better than how they did last year.

What did Brian Dawkins say about the Eagles?

In a conversation with Fox, he said, “I thought that the Eagles would be much improved from last year. I thought they would grow from last year.” The Eagles finished with a 9-8 record last season and made it to the playoffs. However, they are now being considered one of the favorites to lift the Super Bowl given their recent domination.

Dawkins went on to add that if a team has to win the Super Bowl, they need to have their balance in attack and defense sorted out, “I was waiting to see how quick the defense jelled because there was a whole bunch of new pieces coming in, and I was trying to see what type of defense it would be because we didn’t know what they were last year. They were very passive early, then they got aggressive late, then they got passive in the last game.” he said.

The Eagles’ only loss this season came against the Washington Commanders. They are leading the NFC East at the moment and will close out the regular season by facing the New York Giants, Chicago Bears, Dallas Cowboys, New Orleans Saints, and Giants once again in the final game of the season.
