Bills Stefon Diggs Finally Addresses His Absence From The Mandatory Minicamp

The particulars in the Stefon Diggs case both matter and don’t. According to reports, the wide receiver arrived at Orchard Park on Tuesday before leaving just before the start of Bills practice. Reporters were informed by coach Sean McDermott that he was “very concerned.”

Bills Stefon Diggs Finally Addresses His Absence From The Mandatory Minicamp

“I’m not gonna get into it,” McDermott said. “Look, I respect everyone’s questions and what they want to know about our team. Right now, I’m just not gonna get into that anymore.”

Diggs arrived at the Bills‘ facility on Monday and Tuesday in the morning, but he departed before the start of the second minicamp session on Tuesday, according to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.

Other athletes who were being interviewed throughout the day endorsed Diggs. Diggs’ support was assured by Josh Allen, who said that Diggs was essential to the success of their current plan.

According to Von Miller, he was “on Stef’s side.” Diggs then did what we would all do in a similar circumstance: he posted fictitious Instagram posts that resembled the titles of Breaking Bad episodes, including the rest of us in the fun.

On Tuesday night, Diggs, 29, published two Instagram posts that included enigmatic statements that appeared to be addressed to someone within or close to the Buffalo organization.

“I just be letting people cap. If them lies help you sleep better tell em big dawg,” the first one read.

“My phone been silent for like 6 years. Ion play all them sounds and s–t,” Diggs wrote in a follow-up

Later that day, Diggs’ agent responded, claiming that the wide receiver was in the building but had gone before the minicamp started.

“There are things being worked out — on the way to being worked out,” his agent, Adisa Bakari, told NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero. “Stefon has been there Sunday night. He was in the  building this morning.”

Whatever happens with Diggs, who has a contract with the team through 2027 after signing a contract extension in the offseason, it’s more drama than the Bills would want to deal with as they prepare for the upcoming season while attempting to win the Super Bowl.

For each practice Diggs skips during this week’s required camp, he will be fined.

Some players frequently choose not to attend minicamp for both legitimate and illegitimate reasons, but Diggs’ choice to skip practice on Tuesday doesn’t quite fall into the usual categories.
