Bills Josh Allen Blames Media For Unnecessary Stefon Diggs Controversy

Diggs recently made news when he skipped the first day of required minicamp, but Allen doesn’t think it’s a big issue.

Josh Allen, the quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, requests that everyone—including the media—calm down and quit exaggerating the situation with wide receiver Stefon Diggs.

Bills Josh Allen Blames Media For Unnecessary Stefon Diggs Controversy

Stefon Diggs, the top wide receiver for the Buffalo Bills, missed the first day of mandatory minicamp earlier this spring, which caused quite a commotion in the NFL community.

Fans and media figures began to make assumptions about what may have led to this absence. Some others even speculated that it may be connected to his friendship with Bills quarterback Josh Allen.

When asked about the Diggs “situation” during an interview on Bussin’ With The Boys, Josh adamantly insisted that it is not a “situation” at all.

“I love him. That’s my guy,” Allen said on the Bussin’ With The Boys podcast. He expressed his frustration with the media, saying, “The media has blown this so far out of proportion. We’re not playing a game for four months. He doesn’t show up for one day.”

“[The media] is still talking about it. Let it go.”

Head coach Sean McDermott’s response to Diggs’ absence was one of the factors that led to the media fawning over it. The day Diggs skipped his minicamp session, McDermott said that he was “very concerned” about the circumstance.

Next day, Diggs did go back to minicamp. And it appears that he is finally ready to begin his fourth season with the Bills, with both Josh Allen and the franchise promising that there would be no “funny business.”
