Bills GM Brandon Beane Lends Pet Goats To Sabres For Jersey Unveil

On Monday, the Buffalo Sabres unveiled their brand-new third jersey with the help of three live goats that came from an unlikely place. It’s from pets that belong to the GM of Bills, Brandon Beane.

There is no chance that the local connection exists. Terry Pegula, the owner of the Bills and the Sabres, is known for being one of the NHL’s most engaged owners; therefore, the two Buffalo clubs frequently collaborate.

After two of the best seasons in Bills history, general manager of the Sabres Kevyn Adams even stated in February that he intended to call Brandon Beane to “pick his brain.”

To help sabres count down to the debut of the red and black Goathead outfit, Bills general manager Brandon Beane and his wife, Hayley, loaned their three goats, Silk, Corduroy, and Georgie.

The live stream displayed the furry companions ambling around an extra dressing room in KeyBank Center as a 40-minute countdown appeared on the video. The team mascot, Sabretooth, even paid the goats a visit while they were eating hay and climbing on the stalls.

The video then went dark when the countdown reached zero. Rasmus Dahlin, a defenseman for the Sabres, emerged from a cloud of smoke as the goal horn for the team from 1996 to 2006 blared. Pictures of other Sabres sporting the new design, which will make its debut on November 23 versus St. Louis, flashed over the screen.

Following the announcement, Hayley Beane, wife of Brandon Beane, tweeted: “Well, I love this!! Well done, Sabres. World, meet my goats. … Silk, Corduroy and Georgie! #onebuffalo They actually loved Sabretooth. They live at the beautiful Stillwater Farm in Boston, N.Y.”
