“Billionaire LeBron James to Take a Pay Cut Like James Harden to Help the Lakers?”: NBA Fan Raises a Valid Question on Lakers
Fans are asking why the Lakers star, LeBron James, who is now the sole billionaire athlete in the world, cannot give away money to win a championship like Harden, who is pretty well known for being a selfish man. For the 2022–23 season, Harden chose to forego receiving $47.4 million.
Harden has allegedly agreed to sign a deal for up to $36 million, which is the maximum amount the Sixers can pay out under the hard cap. Philadelphia was able to add P. J. Tucker and Danuel House Jr. to contracts this summer because of Harden’s decision to opt out and accept less money.

The 10-time All-Star decided this year that he would accept a significant salary cut to assist Philadelphia in building a strong squad in order to win a title because he failed to make a significant contribution to either of these previous two championship drives.
Fans question LeBron James after Harden’s pay cut
Harden took a massive pay cut and has less net worth than King James. While it is the management’s duty to build a fighting roster, many have been questioning James for taking the maximum salary from the Lakers. If James takes a pay cut, the Lakers might be able to sign a suitable player for the coming season.
The Lakers great has enough money to chase titles with a stronger team, which may be what he most desires right now, even if he played on a veteran minimum contract. But it’s reasonable to assume that, given how thrifty The King is with money, he is not going that path. Perhaps he will do it the next year so that he can play for the team that selects Bronny James, but not this one.

But LeBron can’t be blamed. By gambling the money, you are not taking a chance on whether you will win one or two championships. If you haven’t already, ask players from earlier generations what they would do. You’ll get the idea of what I mean.
