UFC 275 lived up to the hype as Jiri Prochazka stole the show in the main event by submitting Glover Teixeira in the fifth round. The late finish came after a back-and-forth war that was contested on the ground as well as on the feet.

Teixeira had the upper hand for several chunks of the fight, but ultimately it all slipped away with just 28 seconds left for the final bell.

Jiri Prochazka secured the RNC finish and has now become the first-ever UFC champion from the Czech Republic. Moreover, he’s now the 15th champion to hold the 205-pound strap and is amongst elite company with the likes of Jon Jones, Lyoto Machida, and ‘Rampage’ Jackson.

The fact that Jiri Prochazka was able to submit Teixeira had the MMA world in splits. The Brazilian is known for his ace grappling and he even won the championship belt by submitting Jan Blachowicz via RNC.

Moreover, many fans and fighters also gave Glover Teixeira a much-needed shout-out after the fight. At 42-years of age, Teixeira has been an inspiration to many, becoming the oldest ever first-time UFC champion in the history of the company.
