Bestie Goals: Brittany Mahomes Cheered Taylor Swift On Being Time’s Person Of The Year
After being named TIME’s 2023 Person of the Year on Wednesday, Taylor Swift was bolstered by her new best friend, Brittany Mahomes, who happens to be the wife of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Travis Kelce, the tight end for the Chiefs, is dating Swift. The singer posted each of the three TIME covers in separate posts on her Instagram page, and Mahomes “liked” each one.

Aside from their trademark handshakes and handholding on girl’s nights out in NYC, Swift and Mahomes appear to be close friends based on their frequent sightings together at Chiefs games.
After the “Karma” singer gushed over football in an open interview and spoke up about her relationship with Kelce for the first time, the NFL and the Chiefs both shared on social media about Swift’s amazing achievement.

Football is fantastic, it seems out, according to a Swift comment that was reposted by the Chiefs and the NFL on X. My entire life, I have been deprived of experiences.
The NFL tweeted, “Couldn’t have said it any better,” along with a red heart emoji. The Chiefs responded, “We tend to have that effect on people.”
In the 96 years that TIME has selected a Person of the Year, Swift is the first performer to win the solo award.
In her first interview in four years, the 12-time Grammy winner almost brought the internet to its knees by talking about her brief romance with Kelce.

The pop superstar responded to a TIME question about her relationship being so public, saying, “We are just two people supporting each other doing what we love.”
“When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care,” Swift said.
“The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.”

The singer further recounted how Kelce “adorably put me on blast” in July during an episode of his “New Heights” podcast, when the two-time Super Bowl champion revealed that he attempted to get his shot with Swift at her performance.
“We started hanging out right after that,” Swift said. “So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other.

She was talking about the Chiefs-Bears game at Arrowhead Stadium on September 24. “By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple,” she added.
“I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.”
