Best Players Available In The Market: After The NFL Roster Cut 2022

The hardest day on the 2022 NFL schedule is August 30. On that day, all 32 teams must reduce their roster from 80 active players to 53 players. The Roster Cut is heartbreaking to watch yet required for the game.

As a result, many undrafted free agents’ careers will be ended before they even get started, while some veterans’ careers will end abruptly. The pool of available players in the league will be overflowing, and while some of these talents will find new homes and have the chance to restart their careers, others may languish on practice squads or possibly have to focus on occupations that don’t require regularly slamming into other guys.

Teams are trimming their rosters in preparation for the 2022 NFL season, which will begin a week from Thursday with the Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams at the Buffalo Bills (8:20 p.m. ET, NBC).

By Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET, teams had to reduce their rosters down to 53 players. To make room for the 17-game regular season schedule, cuts were made sooner as teams completed their three preseason games on Sunday.

Among the more notable names among those who were released is quarterback Kellen Mond of the Vikings, running back Marlon Mack of the Texans, and wide receiver Josh Gordon of the Chiefs. Both cornerbacks Byron Jones of the Miami Dolphins and Tre’Davious White of the Buffalo Bills have been placed on the PUP (physically unable to perform) list and will miss a minimum of four games.

After Cut: Best Players On The List

Cutdown Day doesn’t necessarily mean that everyone’s football playing days are over because the NFL is rife with valuable players who were first cut, waived, or released by another club.

Raheem Mostert went undrafted in 2015, was released by six different organizations before becoming the 49ers’ starting running back in San Francisco. He is currently sharing a timeshare with Chase Edmonds in Miami. The Broncos released Isaiah McKenzie in the middle of the 2018 campaign. He will be Buffalo’s starting slot receiver for the 2022 campaign.
