Bengals QB Joe Burrow Still Not At The Practice Session, When Is He To Return?

The Bengals held their first workout on Wednesday after reducing their roster to 53 players. Over the next 24 hours, they will assemble their practice squad, but Joe Burrow remains the central concern. Will the talented quarterback work out after sustaining a calf injury on July 27?

Bengals QB Joe Burrow is Still Not At The Practice Session, When Is He To Return?

“We’ll see,” head coach Zac Taylor said on Tuesday.

Since injuring his right calf more than a month ago, Burrow hasn’t worked out. Throughout his recuperation, he has often thrown and worked out at team facilities.

The Bengals have been mum about the current situation throughout Burrow’s contract talks and injury recuperation. That was still the situation on Tuesday when Taylor talked to the media following the 4 p.m. deadline for reducing rosters to 53 players.

Bengals’ head coach Zac Taylor expressed optimism about Burrow’s physical condition, stating, “I think he has a very healthy body, and I’m encouraged by that.”, via ESPN’s Ben Baby.

Burrow’s protracted absence, however, has prompted concerns about the likelihood that a legal issue influenced his departure from practice.

Although Coach Taylor vehemently refuted any concept of a “hold-in” planned by Burrow, rumors have only grown due to the lack of openness around both contract talks and Burrow’s recuperation.

In addition, the fifth-year head coach refrained from providing a more thorough report on Burrow’s condition since the injury occurred on July 27. Sept. 10 is the team’s first game of the year.

Fans are getting concerned about the franchise quarterback’s readiness to lead the club as the start of the season approaches.

According to his head coach, if he doesn’t train on Wednesday, it won’t be related to talks.

“No,” Taylor said bluntly.

Burrow may not have missed any practices as a result of his contract up to this point, but if he isn’t on the field this week, the rumors will intensify.

Wednesday and Thursday afternoons are practice days for the Bengals.
