Joe Burrow understands he can be a designated hitter on an MLB team if, for some reason, the whole NFL quarterback thing doesn’t work out for him.

Bengals QB Joe Burrow Shows His Excellent Baseball Skills At Reds Batting Practice

On Wednesday, Burrow and a few Bengals players made the quick trek from Paycor Stadium to the field at Great American Ball Park to participate in batting practice. Burrow hit four long balls, going deep.

Several Reds players were present to observe and socialize with their football counterparts surrounding the cage.

Burrow took his time in the cage while donning a No. 9 Reds shirt and hitting right-handed, and all eyes and cameras were focused on him.

Burrow excelled at basketball and football as a youngster, and although he had played baseball in middle school, he decided to focus on those two sports as he entered high school.

For someone who only played baseball up until the start of high school, Burrow is cranking his swings up there.
Burrow’s drive landed several rows farther into the left-field seats a few cuts later.

Later, Burrow seated two additional drivers consecutively in the chairs. Second baseman Jonathan India for the Reds took part of the glory.

“I was coaching him up,” India said. “I was telling him to get the [bat] head out. Looked low in the zone. He hit two homers back-to-back.”

Burrow ended the game after fouling a Singley pitch off the top of the cage after hitting his fourth home run.

Burrow, the Bengals’ first-round selection in 2020 who guided his squad to the Super Bowl in 2021, responded, “OK, that’s nice. For the Reds’ home opener in 2022, he threw a ceremonial first pitch.

He was able to shake off the rust, and once everything was said and done, he was able to knock four balls out of the park.

Despite the fact that NFL fans enjoy watching their stars demonstrate their talent in two different sports, at least in the form of home runs, you know the Bengals front office was dreading  seeing their star quarterback up there.

For someone who only played baseball up until the start of high school, Burrow is cranking his swings up there.
