It was never a secret that security was a concern for Dunne, who abruptly stopped going to in-person classes after climbing the celebrity ladder. As it happens, the dynamics in Baton Rouge were altered by at least one extremely crucial circumstance.

“I had a scare once with a message that I got about a class I was going to, and I was like, you know what, it’s not worth it. It was a threat. It seemed like they knew where I was at and what class, and I just decided better (to be) safe than sorry,” As they spoke about the matter, Dunne told NJ Advance Media.

An Instagram death threat against the popular gymnast was submitted on December 2, 2021, according to an LSU police report. The threat was made by someone threatening to “shoot up” the school’s campus. Relating to the threat, no one was ever arrested.

“(Dunne) added that due to her large social media following … she was used to getting strange messages from unknown accounts but has not received a message of this nature before,” the report states.
