Baltimore Ravens LB Jaylon Ferguson tragically dies at the age of 26
Outside linebacker Jaylon Ferguson of the Baltimore Ravens died at the age of 26, the team confirmed on Wednesday. According to his agent, Safarrah Lawson, Ferguson died in Baltimore. There was no mention of a cause of death.
“We are very grieved by Jaylon Ferguson’s unfortunate death,” the squad stated in a statement. “He was a gentle, considerate young guy with a bright grin and a contagious attitude. We extend our sincere sympathies to Jaylon’s family and friends as we grieve the loss of a life taken much too soon.”
Ferguson, a 3rd round pick in the draught by the Ravens in 2019, has competed in every game of the team’s offseason sessions this year. He looked to have worked extremely hard to still be in the greatest form of his career, losing a large amount of weight.
Ferguson, known as “Sack Daddy” after graduating from Louisiana Tech, owns the FBS milestone for career sacks with 45. In three NFL seasons, he had 67 tackles and 4.5 sacks.
Ferguson spent the majority of his time in the 2019 draft. There he was the 85th player chosen, assisting his homeland of Ruston, Louisiana, in its recovery following a catastrophic tornado. He assisted in the hunt for persons while also clearing uprooted trees from the roadway. He also assisted in delivering water and pizza to those in need.

Ravens linebacker Patrick Queen tweeted, “The last guy I spoke to was leaving the building.” “We spent practically every day in the sauna together, trying to see who could go the longest. Man, they claimed it was our turn this year. I’m going to miss you, dude.”
His 3 children, 2 daughters who survive Ferguson, and one son, all of them are under the age of five.
Lawson said in a statement, “He was a great young guy full of love and life.” “He will indeed be remembered not only as a tremendous football player, but also as a wonderful father, son, brother, and friend. The family would appreciate your continued prayers.”
Ferguson had 187 total tackles and 67.5 tackles for loss in 50 collegiate games from 2015 to 2018. During his four seasons with the team, he aided Louisiana Tech to win four straight bowl games.
