Baltimore Ravens Extend Winning Streak to 21 Games During the Pre-Season – What Does it Mean For them Going Into the Season?

The Baltimore Ravens, going back to 2015, won their 21st straight preseason game by beating the Titans, 23-10. It’s an NFL record for all time. The Baltimore Ravens would most likely take home the trophy if there was one for preseason victories. Because it was a preseason game, the Baltimore Ravens 23-10 victory over the Tennessee Titans wasn’t very remarkable.

They rested many starters, yet they still managed to extend their winning streak to 21 games. Since 2015, the Ravens haven’t dropped a preseason game. Is the front office ordering the players to act as though it’s the regular season, and is it one of the reasons the Ravens consistently appear to be successful?

When the Ravens reached 19, tying the Packers of the Lombardi era, coach John Harbaugh defended the value of the record. But what significance does it actually have when it involves games that are pointless by nature?

Baltimore Ravens and their insane preseason record

In order to put the team’s winning streak into even greater perspective, the most recent preseason defeat was in September 2015. On Thursday, the Ravens demolished the Titans. At quarterback, Tyler Huntley had the most of the playing time and completed 16 of 18 passes for 109 yards and one score. Mike Davis, a running back, also scored on the ground.

It demonstrates John Harbaugh’s fierce sense of competition. It’s also of no consequence as long as his fierce competitiveness doesn’t lead him to make foolish decisions like substituting starters late in a close game. However, it actually has no use. Records from the preseason vanish as soon as the exhibition games are over. The 2008 Lions were 0-16 following a perfect preseason record. Those August victories are hardly in any way a bright spot in a terrible season.
