Are the New York Jets going to part ways with Zach Wilson? Reports suggest QB’s stint with Jets may be over
According to reports, the New York Jets are prepared to offload quarterback Zach Wilson next offseason. Wilson drew plenty of criticism after his torrid outing in the Jets’ 10-3 defeat against the New England Patriots in Week 11. He completed only 9 of 22 passes for 77 yards and was sacked four times without getting much joy on the field.
To make matters worse, Wilson refused to take the blame for the defeat and the 23-year-old also came under fire for the comments that he made after the game. In Week 12, Wilson was dropped as the Jets’ starting QB as Mike White led the calls for the New York outfit.

White guided the Jets to a 31-10 win over the Chicago Bears with a sensational outing, throwing for 315 yards and racking up three touchdowns. His performance did enough to restore faith in the Jets organization to keep him as the starting quarterback for at least the remainder of the season.

But where does that leave Zach Wilson? According to some NFL analysts, Wilson is expected to part ways with the Jets in the offseason. After Week 12, NFL Insider Jason La Canfora said, “He doesn’t have a future there at the Jets anymore …. He lost his job to Mike effing White, you think he wants to be there? No. No! His agents say ‘You took this kid second overall and that’s the look you gave him? That’s how little you believe in him?’ No. It’s over. I don’t know what they get for him, but it’s over,” he said.

Wilson was picked by the Jets in 2021. So far, his NFL career reads 3,613 passing yards with 13 touchdowns and 16 interceptions. He has had a rather underwhelming season this term, managing only four touchdowns in seven games. Wilson’s displays have left the Jets third in the AFC East, with plenty to do if they are going to make the playoffs.
