“Anytime After Say 9PM or 10PM When I Am Watching TV, You Just…..”- Israel Adesanya Opens up on His ‘Gross-Est’ Habit
UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya is a unique individual,l to say the least. ‘The Last Style Bender’ has amassed a huge following by being true to himself and expressing his individuality which fans are drawn towards.
In a recent sitdown video with teammate and featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski, ‘Izzy’ pulled back the curtains on his gross-est habit. He said, “I think every guy does this, anytime after say 9pm or 10pm when I am watching TV, you just scratch your ba**s and you sniff it… I like my own whiff sometimes.”
A closer look at Israel Adesanya vs Jared Cannonier
Israel Adesanya entered the UFC with a lot of hype surrounding him. ‘The Last Style Bender’ was an extremely successful kickboxer and had the resume to show for it. He did not disappoint in his debut as he secured an impressive stoppage win over Rob Wilkinson in the second round of their fight. He then went on to put together a string of victories before he became the unified champion by knocking out Robert Whittaker in his home country of Australia.
Since then, Adesanya has ruled over the middleweight division with an iron first. The fight against Jared Cannonier is something Adesanya has been wanting for a while and it will be his 5th title defense. The fighting styles here are extremely polar opposite. Cannonier is a power puncher who has secured 67% of his wins via T/KO.
Adesanya, on the other hand, is a counter puncher and is more than happy to sit back and pick his opponent apart while doing so, ‘Izzy’ forces his opponent to get desperate and charge forward where he is extremely good at landing brilliantly timed counter punches.
Going into the fight, Adesanya will have a significant height advantage and a three-inch reach advantage, which will play a key role in how the fight will play out. In the build-up to the fight, ‘Izzy’ has stated that he will be going for a finish and this fight will be a lot like his fight against Paulo Costa.
