Anthony Davis Injury Update: Report Issued By Lakers A Major Concern?

Los Angeles Lakers power forward/centre who is prone to injury. In last night’s 111-102 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Anthony Davis was once more seen in street clothes. Due to the injured lower back that he looked to re-injure during a jarring landing on Wednesday night, Davis was given the day off.

Anthony Davis is Absent From The Game

Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis is absent, which might prevent the team from falling into a 0-5 rut and leaving them without any solutions.

Unfortunately for the fans, Davis is on the injury report issued by the team. Anthony Davis is listed as Questionable with lower back tightness.

In his ten NBA seasons, Davis has never appeared in every game, and during the past two years, he has only made an appearance in 76. He stated earlier this season that he intended to play in every Lakers game as one of his objectives.

Davis said to Spectrum Sports, “As much as I can, play all 82 [games], and then get back to the level of basketball I know I’m capable of playing, which is to be elite and dominant. He has recently experienced calf strains, torn Achilles tendons, groin injuries, torn anterior cruciate ligaments, and sprained feet.

“Last season I had two injuries that you can’t really control. I mean, one guy fell on my knee and landed on my foot,” Davis said. “And the good thing for me is that the doctors, after they looked at us, they could have been, like, ten times worse.”

Anthony Davis has already broken his promise to the Laker fans during media day five games into the current campaign. The Lakers big man had assured the supporters that he would take part in all 82 games this year. AD missed the Lakers’ most recent game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, demonstrating that he was unable to uphold the same.

Teammates LeBron & Westbrook Show Their Support

Russell Westbrook and LeBron James, two of his Lakers teammates, urged patience and mentioned that Davis might be dealing with other health difficulties.

“He must act in his body’s best interests. Do what will benefit his mind and body. Everything else will be put on hold when his mind isn’t in the right place. So he must have faith in himself, “said James.

“Yes, he wants to play in every game, and yes, he wants to be on the field for our team, but he’s had a lot of bumps and bruises over the last few years. He needs to trust himself, trust the coaching staff, and not put his body in danger.”

“AD is taking care of his body, which is the most important thing,” Westbrook said. “And I believe that’s the most important part of any injury, is making sure his mind is in the right place.” We’ll be prepared to leave when he returns, which hopefully won’t be too soon.
