Angel Reese Bows To Olivia Dunne As She Completes Her Journey At LSU: Geaux Queen

Olivia Dunne, a gymnastics sensation from LSU, said goodbye to her college career on Friday during the Tigers’ home meet versus North Carolina. The Tigers are ranked second. Through her Instagram stories, fellow LSU star Angel Reese, a well-known member of the women’s basketball team, expressed her support for Dunne.

On Instagram, Angel Reese posted, “GEAUX QUEEN @LIVVYDUNNE.”

Dunne leaves behind a significant legacy as LSU hopes to secure a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament in 2024. Dunne’s influence has grown beyond collegiate gymnastics thanks to her 9.3 million strong social media following and her endorsements from brands including Sports Illustrated, Leafs Trading Cards, and PlantFuel.

Reflecting on her most successful competition year, Dunne was motivated by her desire to leave a lasting legacy, which is represented by her Livvy Dunne Foundation, as she considered her future at LSU.

“This has been my favorite year at LSU so far,” Dunne said.

“The way this team gets along with one another is like no other. This year has been a blast. The trust we have in one another. The friendly competition we have in the gym. That has helped everyone this year.

“My summers are usually pretty hectic. I treated it like my last year, so I wanted to make the best of it. It really paid off.

“I wouldn’t say I took it more seriously. I just didn’t know what the right balance was for me as a person with NIL, schoolwork and practice. This year, I had the best grasp on it.”

Olivia has not yet decided whether to return, even though the NCAA has extended eligibility to student-athletes impacted by COVID-19. Dunne hopes to end her LSU career in April with a possible national championship with the help of skilled colleagues like Haleigh Bryant.
