All You Need To Know About Bryce Harper’s Wife, Kayla Varner
Major League Baseball has produced some of the best players over time and one of them is Bryce Harper. The Phillies star is one of the highest-paid players in the history of Major League Baseball and has been a strong influence in the success of his side in Major League Baseball since his inclusion in the team. But have you ever wondered who influenced him to achieve such success? Yes, it is his wife, Kayla Varner.
Varner and Harper were both born in 1992 and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. They started dating in 2012 and got engaged in 2014. The two were supposed to walk down the aisle in January 2015, but the wedding didn’t happen then and Varner disappeared from Harper’s social media accounts. However, the two were back together in July 2016 and there was an official announcement about the two heading back for an engagement, which eventually happened on December 16, 2016.

Varner was raised Mormon and is still a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints today. When she and Bryce Harper got married they chose to have their ceremony at the San Diego Mormon Temple. In an interview after their marriage, Varner said in an interview, “I dreamt of being sealed in the San Diego Temple, and Bryce agreed that this was the right place for us. Religion was obviously the most important part of our marriage. The temple marriage is very sacred. Our religion is very private, and only certain people can attend the ceremony. So it was really nice to just enjoy that with our immediate family.”

Varner is an athlete who has a thing for fitness and used to play soccer at high school. In high school, she was the team captain and Green Valley reached the playoffs every year. The school won two Sunrise conference titles, three Southeast division titles, and the Nevada State Championship while she was there. Varner played 33 games at BYU and her career included the game-winning penalty kick in the 2012 NCAA Tournament Sweet Sixteen game against Marquette. After her sophomore year, she transferred to Ohio State where she had two goals and five assists in 20 matches.

Prior to her husband, Bryce Harper signing his massive deal with the Phillies, Varner shared a shot via Instagram of a view she and the MLB player once had from their hotel room in Philadelphia. She specifically pointed out how her “favorite part was being able to see the top of the Philly temple from our window” and added a heart eyes emoji. So it can be said that Harper did the right thing by signing this massive deal with the Phillies and ensuring that he will be staying with them for a long time to come. As far as Varner is concerned, she is happy to be in Philadelphia and should be elated with the decision of her superstar husband to stay put in the City of Brotherly Love.
