“All Hero’s Don’t Wear Capes but Mr Morant Does”- Ja Morant Receives Support From an Unlikely Source Amidst Absence From the Sport
One of the biggest talking points in the NBA over the past week or so has been the concerning behavior of one of its brightest upcoming stars, Ja Morant. The 23-year-old point guard is currently taking a break away from the team to focus on his mental health and get a few things right before stepping back onto the court and under the brightest spotlights.
In the last two weeks or so, Morant has been in the news for two major stories. The first story that broke out was about Morant being involved in an altercation with a 17-year-old during a pick-up game. It was reported that Morant beat the teenager and also flashed a handgun at the individual.

A few days after that, Morant took to Instagram live while he was at a strip club in Denver. While this is not something the league would take notice of, when he pulled out a handgun on Instagram live, things took a turn for the worse for the 23-year-old star. The incident went viral immediately and Morant was suspended for two games.
Ja Morant finds an unlikely supporter
Following the incident, former NBA player Gilbert Arenas took to Instagram to show his support for Morant. He said, “Can all the media outlets apologize to #jamorant for the smear campaign they did by calling him a Thug ! this Family man, hero,Role model ,franchise player, future face of the league and now PHILANTHROPIST. He is shown here Donating his money and time to A Local Historic Place called “Shotgun willies” that houses Missguilded females of the community due to the lack of funding from the city.”

“The building AC was not working at the time which is why Morant shirt was seen off in this picture The 50k donation that MR morant provided had one of the local Community women so excited she jumped on Mr morant without his consent As u can see he was not touching the women nor enjoying what was going on,as for Mr Morant’s live video.”
Arenas himself was suspended for most of the 2009/10 NBA season because of handgun violations and for subsequent actions that appeared to make light of the episode.
