Alex Pereira Only Fighter to Knockout Israel Adesanya Ready for the Champion Ever Since His First UFC Fight Says Glover Teixeira
Israel Adesanya has been ruling over the UFC’s middleweight division ever since October 2019. Since then, ‘The Last Style Bender’ has defended his belt four times against the likes of Robert Whittaker, and Paulo Costa, among others.
Adesanya entered the UFC after building an extremely impressive resume as a kick-boxer. ‘Izzy’ had a record of 75 wins and only 5 losses. Four of the five losses have come via the judges’ scorecard. However, his last fight as a professional kick-boxer ended horribly as he was brutally knocked out by Alex Pereira in the third round of their fight. A perfect hook left Adesanya motionless on the floor. The fight was Adesanya’s second encounter against Pereira who beat ‘The Last Style Bender’ via unanimous decision in their first fight.
‘Poatan’ made his UFC debut in November 2021 with a stunning flying knee knockout win over Andreas Michailidis, he then followed that up with a decision win over Bruno Silva. Pereira is currently scheduled to take on Sean Strickland and if he were to win that fight, it would put him on a fast track to a title shot given the history he has with Adesanya.
