Alex Bregman Trade Rumors: Yankees Eyeing The Star?
The two-time World Series champion Alex Bregman has been a hot prospect this winter, and there have been rumours in the trade that he is linked to the Yankees. While having a strong regular season, the legendary third baseman did not have the same playoff success as he did in 2017 and 2022 (both years the Astros won the Fall Classic).
Alex Bregman Trade Rumors: Yankees Eyeing The Star?
The New York Yankees have made it apparent that they need to bolster their roster for the 2024 MLB season, and in recent days, the names of potential players they may be interested in have started to surface.
Alex Bregman, the third baseman for the Houston Astros, is a new name that has been added to the list of players that the “Bronx Bombers” may use in their lineup.

MLB.com has suggested a four-team trade rumour that could see the Yanks land the third baseman. The Yankees need a reliable third baseman and an outfielder this offseason.
The Astros’ Jake Meyers, an above-average defensive outfielder under team control in 2027, would also be acquired by the Yankees in this transaction. Additionally, the White Sox acquired pitcher Jared Shuster from the Yankees last week as part of the Aaron Bummer trade, according to MLB.com.
Alex Bregman was the ONLY qualified MLB hitter in 2023 who had a K% below 14% and a BB% above 12%, but some #Yankees fans won’t want him because he’s a righty and not an OF.

Bregman is one of two Astros infielders whose contracts expire in 2024. The other elite infield player is Jose Altuve. The Astros are reportedly hoping to extend both, but Altuve is their favourite choice.
Two Astros infielders, including Bregman, have contracts that expire in 2024. Jose Altuve is the other. According to reports, the Astros want to extend both, but Altuve is their first priority. They intend to turn him into a lifelong Astro.
Bregman, on the other hand, could run into a shortage of numbers. If so, it could be good for the Astros to move him now to receive some value.
No Dominguez!!! Pinstriped future? Alex Bregman could be a fit for the Yankees https://t.co/tiqjnliUGx

With the Astros, Bregman had another excellent season, hitting 262/.363/.441/.804 with 25 home runs, four triples, 28 doubles, and 98 RBI. Yankee Stadium would be a fantastic match for his right-handed swing.
Regarding the reports, it is stated that the Bronx’s ninth-ranked pitcher Everson Pereira and players like Spencer Jones or Jasson Domínguez may be on the Yankees’ shortlist for an offer.
This doesn’t even make since for the Astros. Getting rid of Alex Bregman, Jake Myers, and Spencer Arrighetti for Jordan Westburg? What am I missing? This trade is a NO WAY!

Yoshinobu Yamamoto, a Japanese pitcher, and Juan Soto, a player for the San Diego Padres, are two more names who have been mentioned as potential additions to the New York Yankees roster.
Has Bregman won a Gold Glove?
At third base, Alex Bregman, Matt Chapman of Toronto, and José Ramírez of Cleveland are the finalists. In right field, Kyle Tucker is a contender along with Alex Verdugo of Boston and Adolis García of Texas. Last year, Tucker took home his first Gold Glove. Three times a finalist, Bregman has never taken home the prize.

Is Alex Bregman a free agent?
Michael Brantley, catcher Martín Maldonado, relievers Phil Maton and Ryne Stanek, and outfielder Brantley are the other free agents. Given that the contracts of two of the team’s greatest players, Alex Bregman and Jose Altuve, expire at the end of the 2024 campaign, the upcoming offseason will be even more exciting.
