Alabama QB Bryce Young compared to NFL legend Drew Brees by NFL analyst
Alabama quarterback Bryce Young will be a junior in the upcoming 2022 season, which means he is eligible to enter the 2023 NFL draught once the college football season closes. Although nothing is certain, it’s unlikely that the current Heisman Trophy winner will play his senior year.
Daniel Jeremiah, an NFL analyst, just compiled a Young scouting report. Jeremiah highlights Young’s precision and good judgment as strengths in his play. Additionally, he highlights Young’s need to develop some parts of his game, including bulking up before entering the NFL.

He provides a contrast. Jeremiah thinks he recognizes Drew Brees, the future Hall of Fame quarterback for the New Orleans Saints.
“There isn’t really a good comparable for Young. The player who most reminds me of a young Drew Brees is, though”, Jeremiah says.” Although neither of these guys has a perfect size, they make up for it with superior processing and accuracy. Brees, in my opinion, was a comparable athlete at that point in his career. Pure point guards, they are. The positioning is perfect, and the ball comes out quickly.”
Drew Brees is a really high end game manager.
He mastered the mental side and accuracy on short throws.

Jeremiah concludes by saying that he is interested to watch Youthful play against a young and hungry Texas A&M defense because it will emphasize Young’s advantages and show his capacity to perform well under duress.
Last season, Young completed 66.9% of his throws for 4,872 yards, 47 touchdowns, seven interceptions, and three more touchdowns on the run. These kinds of performances are almost unheard of for a first-year starting quarterback, but Young’s Heisman Trophy nomination was expected given his illustrious recruiting background.
At the SEC Media Days this week in Atlanta, Alabama coach Nick Saban stated that he admires the attitude that star quarterback Vince Young has taken this summer as he strives to get better even after a nearly flawless season.
“For Bryce or any athlete who experiences success, understanding that success is not a continuum is one of the most crucial things”, according to Saban. “Success is fleeting, therefore you must keep going. Therefore, if you want to keep succeeding, you must maintain your attention on the tasks that will help you advance, become ready, lead, and influence others around you.”
“Bryce has made it crystal clear that he is prepared to carry out all of those tasks. When it comes to his goals and objectives, he strives for excellence. I have so far been happy with the way he has been able to keep the attitude necessary to advance as a player and continue to get better.” he concluded.
