Al Michaels Received Backlash By Swifties For Insulting Taylor Swift’s Music

Thursday night’s 42-34 victory over the New Orleans Saints had social media buzzing, but not for the reasons you may anticipate. Al Michaels, the play-by-play announcer for Prime Video, made some remarks about Taylor Swift throughout the game.

Swift teased her upcoming album “Midnights” during the program, and Michaels then went on to comment on Swift’s purported target audience.

“You have four sons. Your daughter would be ecstatic if you had one. My granddaughter is currently absolutely over the moon. Taylor Swift is the most well-known member of the adolescent girl trio, according to Michaels, who was speaking to Kirk Herbstreit on the “TNF “broadcast.

It’s significant to note that he did continue by calling Swift a “great performer” in response to those remarks. However, his original remarks were not warmly received on Twitter.

The 32-year-old singer has 11 Grammy Awards to her name and is well-known to have followers among men, women, teenagers, and celebrities. But young women make up a sizable portion of her following base. Swift’s brand has been chiefly based on the suffering that comes with relationships, maturing, and living.

Although Twitter generally expressed its dissatisfaction with the statements, Michaels’ remarks were a reflection of his personal opinions regarding the music. Al Michaels’ comments regarding Taylor Swift during the Cardinals-Saints game on “Thursday Night Football” have angered Swift fans.

Al Michaels Angered Swift Fans With Passive Aggressive Comments

“All respect to Al Michaels, but dudes can be Taylor Swift fans, too,” ESPN NFL reporter Brooke Pryor tweeted, adding, “Whew, the toxic masculinity is STRONG #onhere tonight in a separate tweet.

Michael Smith of Pro Football Talk disagreed with Michaels’s remarks as well.

Smith tweeted that Al Michaels’ presumption that Kirk Herbstreit’s children don’t like Taylor Swift because he has sons was quite naive. “The NFL wants to be in business with Taylor Swift in part because she appeals to a population that the NFL would like to reach more,” Smith said.

“Hearing Al Michaels say that boys can’t be enthusiastic for new Taylor Swift and shaking my head the whole time to signal that I don’t agree with it,” one person tweeted.

The results are not good. I think it’s better not to anger Taylor Swift’s fans!
