After The Tremendous Downfall Of Yankees This Season, Are There Changes In The Organisation?
After a seemingly lost season, the Yankees are expected to make some changes. The organization is scouting a star NPB pitcher. Anthony Rizzo is on his way back, as is Josh Donaldson, perhaps.
After The Tremendous Downfall Of Yankees This Season, The Organisation Is Planning Changes
For the 2023 MLB season, the Yankees’ chances of making the playoffs are minimal. Ten games behind the last AL Wild Card slot, they are sixth in the AL East division.
This season, the NY Yankees have almost little chance of making the playoffs. They still have a chance to make the playoffs even though they have not yet been ruled out.
About a year and a half too late. And to think people thought Gary Sanchez was bad
Josh Donaldson released: Yankees cut veteran 3rd baseman, two disappointing years after trading for him.
Injuries and poor production have been the only things of Donaldson’s Yankees tenure
That trade alone should get Cashman fired

Fans want heads to tumble because the Yankees are spiraling out of control, missing the playoffs, and likely ending below.500 for the first time in decades. While Hal Steinbrenner is unlikely to dismiss GM Brian Cashman in the first year of a new contract, it is uncertain how significant the adjustments will be. Nonetheless, there will probably be some significant changes.
They began the year as the defending AL East champions, but as of August 25 they were ranked sixth with a 61-66 record. They are 18 games back of the division’s top team, the Baltimore Orioles.

On March 30, they hosted the San Francisco Giants to open the season. Aaron Judge contributed to their 5-0 victory with two RBI, and a home run, and Gerrit Cole registered a win while pitching six innings and striking out eleven batters.
In relation to player offseason moves, the Yankees have done their research on one fascinating name. Yoshinobu Yamamoto, a Japanese pitcher, is anticipated to be signed this next offseason, and the Yankees are one of the teams evaluating the Orix Buffaloes ace. Yamamoto has a career ERA under 2.00 in over 800 career innings in NPB, including a 1.42 mark this season.

Aaron Judge and Gerrit Cole, two of their top players, have long-term contracts that go through 2028 and 2031, respectively.
They made a strong start to the year and were only one and a half games off of the last Wild Card spot at 34-24 at the end of May. With 18 home runs in the first two months of the season, Judge began it similarly to how he had concluded the previous one.

The turning point came for both Aaron Judge and the Yankees, though. The outfielder was placed on the 10-day injured list after suffering initially a hip and then a tow sprain.
The team’s top outfielder’s return from the disabled list at the beginning of August gave them some cause for optimism.

The Yankees, who had a 6-15 record for the month of August as of August 25, could not benefit from his comeback either.
But some contracts seem like they will go on forever. Giancarlo Stanton is under contract until 2027, with an additional 2028 option that carries a hefty $10 million buyout. Carlos Rodon has a contract with the club through 2028, but he needs to improve in that time. DJ LeMahieu, whose on-base percentage this season is.326 and who has a three-year OPS+ of 102, is signed through 2026.

Anthony Rizzo has advanced to taking batting practice as he continues to heal from a concussion and his post-concussion syndrome, which he played through for a couple of months. This is one injury update that is fairly encouraging.
