After Signing a Massive $245 Million Contract, Russell Wilson Spends a Mammoth $25 Million on a Mansion With a Very Bizarre Amenity

Every year, the teams in the NFL raise the bar when it comes to paying their most talented players. The record for the biggest contract signed has been broken multiple times since Patrick Mahomes signed a mega $500 million deal to stay with the Kansas City Chiefs. Since then, the likes of Russell Wilson, among others, have signed more lucrative deals with their respective teams.

Russell Wilson was drafted as the 75th pick in round three of the 2012 NFL draft by the Seattle Seahawks. Ever since then, Wilson has stayed with the Seahawks and slowly became their most important player. Wilson also guided them to a win at Super Bowl XLVII which was his crowning moment at Seattle.

After nine years with the Seahawks, Wilson decided to part ways and join the Denver Broncos, which was acquired by the Walton family this year for a record-breaking sum. Naturally, to acquire his services, the Broncos had to open their coffers and offer Wilson a serious amount of cash. As reported by Adam Schefter of ESPN, “Breaking: Broncos and Russell Wilson just reached agreement on a five-year, $245 million contract extension that includes $165 million guaranteed, sources tell ESPN. Deal now ties Wilson to Denver for seven total years and $296 million. Another massive QB deal in the books.”

Naturally, with all that money coming in, it only made sense for Russell Wilson to acquire a property for his stay in his new hometown.

Russell Wilson spends 10% of his new contract on a massive mansion

According to reports, Wilson and his wife Ciara have purchased a sprawling new mansion in Colorado. The property set the couple back a whopping $25 million. The property is 20,000 sq ft with 4 bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, 9-car garage, game room, basketball court, theater, and Indoor pool.

However, one particular feature in the mansion has caught the attention of the fans. The basketball in Wilson’s $25-million home is horribly made and does not have the right measurements which fans are having a field day over. One fan said, “Basketball court is a travesty. Claustrophobic just looking at it” another fan added, “What the hell is that Basketball court??”
