He attracted criticism after the New York Post revealed he paid the bail for a guy accused of shooting an NYPD officer.
Pizarro was accused of shooting NYPD Detective Dominick Libretti in the leg during a raid in the Staten Island community of New Springville in January. Pizarro was reportedly firing at cops from the home’s bedroom even though he was not the objective of the operation.

Prior to leaving the NFL following the 2012 season, Ryan Grant, a great running back at Notre Dame, started for the Green Bay Packers. Grant, 40, is a Suffern, New York, native. Before enrolling at Notre Dame, he played high school football for Don Bosco Prep in New Jersey, logging 2,220 yards and 18 touchdowns on the ground. As we all know, cops everywhere already are "held to a higher standard" than those 2 scumbags, Nelson Pizarro & his sweetie Ryan Grant. In the NYPD & most other PDs it's called the Patrol Guide.

“He’s just got free rein of all the boroughs,” one law enforcement source said. “So there’s pretty much no repercussions for shooting a cop.”
The 10-year veteran Libretti, who has been working again since August, mentioned to a buddy that he learned about Pizarro’s position and that it “blows his mind.”

Pizarro was reportedly spotted driving within a few blocks from Libretti’s house, according to the police sources, adding insult to injury.
Although it was unclear what business Pizarro was driving for, the NYPD has reportedly been attempting to obtain a copy of his logs to ensure he is not disobeying the conditions of his parole, which include an 8 p.m. curfew.
This is disturbing on many accounts. An ex-player of The National Felons League securing bond for a convict with a long history of crime that shot a cop.
