After Another Demolition Fans Are Convinced It Is Derrick Henry and Not the McNair Family That Own the Houston Texans

In game week seven of the 2022 NFL season, Derrick Henry and the Tennessee Titans took the Houston Texans in what was always going to be a one-sided encounter. The Texans are arguably the worst team in the league so far this season and the game was the perfect opportunity for Malik Willis to make his full debut for his team. Despite the absence of Tannehill Willis and co made sure to walk away with a 17-10 win over the Texans.

While there were a number of impressive performances in the game, it was Derrick Henry, who once again completely dominated the Texans, as he has done so many times in the past. It only took Henry 2.5 quarters to make history again on Sunday with his 4th straight 200+ rushing yards and 2+ touchdown performance vs Houston.

How have the previous three games panned out? 12/29/19 – 32 carries, 211 yards, 3 touchdowns, 10/18/20 – 22 carries, 212 yards, 2 touchdowns, 1/3/21 – 34 carries, 250 yards, 2 touchdowns. That is 892 rushing yards and 9 touchdowns in 4 games. With these numbers, it is safe to say that it is, in fact, Derrick Henry and not the McNair family that owns the Texans.

The game against the Texans was record-breaking for Henry in more ways than one. He’s now tied for the most career 200-yard rushing games in history with 6 and passed Eddie George in career touchdowns in franchise history with 75.

A closer look at the Tennessee Titans and Derrick Henry so far in 2022

The Tennessee Titans have done well so far this season. Seven games into the season and they have a record of 5-2. Their only losses this season have been at the hands of the all-conquering Buffalo Bills and the New York Giants.

Henry, on the other hand, is the undisputed best running back in the league. So far this season, he has 134 rushing attempts (2nd in the league), 536 rushing yards (5th in the league), five touchdowns (5th in the league). It will be interesting to see how Henry ends this season and the stats he is able to accumulate by the end of the 2022 season.
