Aaron Rodgers, the quarterback for the New York Jets, was astounded after being the target of a card trick by magician and mentalist Oz Pearlman during a preview for this week’s edition of “HBO Hard Knocks.”

When he blindly selected three of the diamonds in Rodgers’ hands from the deck in what appeared to be a routine trick, he not only accurately identified the card Rodgers was considering, but he also left Rodgers holding a goldfish at the conclusion.

Aside from the camera not being able to see how the stack of cards he was carrying changed into the goldfish, Rodgers being left holding it was the great part.

Oz Pearlman, better known by his stage name Oz The Mentalist, is a magician and mentalist. In the 2020 America’s Got Talent finals, he thoroughly frightened out the judges.

During Jets training camp, Pearlman stopped at the Meadowlands to amuse the team. The term entertain may not be appropriate. Perhaps the best word is amazed or dumbfounded.

The trick’s basic idea is straightforward. Simply said, the way it happens is absurd.

In order to lighten the mood and keep players in good spirits during the demanding practices as they prepare for the season, FL teams frequently do things like bring in entertainers for an arbitrary day during training camp. New York was doing this with Pearlman’s appearance as they prepared for their second preseason game, a match-up against the Carolina Panthers.

The second episode of “Hard Knock” airs on HBO at 10 p.m. ET, and it will be revealed if Pearlman or Rodgers had anything to do with that miracle.

Rodgers can apparently see things without merely using ayahuasca or magic drugs, either!
