Aaron Rodgers, the quarterback for the Green Bay Packers, is open about his love of psychedelics. The Super Bowl XLV MVP revealed a much deeper concern that he has already overcome with some outside assistance, despite Aaron Rodgers suffering the worst statistical season of his illustrious NFL career and the Green Bay Packers quarterback perhaps being benched shortly.

Rodgers once more promoted his use of psilocybin, a hallucinogenic compound found in some types of mushrooms, and ayahuasca, a psychoactive brewed beverage from South America, during his appearance on this week’s episode of The Pat McAfee Show.
“I definitely had a major fear of death,” Rodgers, 39, said on the show. “Ayahuasca and psilocybin really helped me with that.”

Following a question from co-host A.J. Hawk about if he was “scared of dying,” the defending NFL MVP talked about psychedelics.
In his opening statement, Rodgers said that the events surrounding the Y2K problem initially made him consider death and the possibility of dying young. At the time, many people assumed a computer glitch would destroy crucial societal infrastructures on the first day of the year 2000.

Ayahuasca is classified by the Alcohol and Drug Foundation as a “plant-based psychedelic,” which can have an impact on a person’s thoughts, sense of time, and emotions, despite Rodgers’ assertion that it is not a drug. According to Double Blind, the primary component of ayahuasca is N, N-Dimethyltryptamine (DMT), a substance classified as a Schedule I drug that is illegal.
