They laid the groundwork for one of the most costly divorce settlements in history. Juanita Jordan left the couple with $168 million, their seven-acre estate, and custody of their three kids despite the prenuptial agreement being in existence.
Shaquille O’Neal & Shaunie O’Neal:
Shaquille O’Neal switched to the Los Angeles Lakers in 1996 from the Orlando Magic. The NBA icon met Shaunie, his then-girlfriend, there. In a private ceremony held at the Beverly Hills Hotel, the couple wed in 2002. The husband and wife were split apart by allegations of adultery. Then, in 2011, Shaq and Shaunie were divorced, which resulted in a significant financial loss for the NBA star. According to Bombist, O’Neal had a prenuptial agreement.
Thus, the majority of his assets were safeguarded when the couple filed for divorce in 2011. According to Shaq’s biography, he and his ex-wife reached a pricey private settlement. He still makes alimony payments of $10,000 per month and extra payments of $10,000 per month for each of his four kids.
Tom Brady and Gisele haven’t officially announced their divorce settlement, but many believe that since Gisele has a far bigger net worth than Tom does ($400 million vs. $250 million), Tom may not even be required to pay alimony.
